Born in South Korea and raised in Troy, Ohio, Jennifer Chun realized her calling as a fashion designer while attending American University. During her Mid-Western childhood, her parents encouraged her to revision existing garments and from that, she ran with her dream. She soon transferred to Pratt Institute, studying art and fashion design, and after graduating, began working with Michael Kors, Derek Lam and Brian Reyes. In 2009, she launched her eponymous line and in 2011, made her NYFW debut with GenArt, showing her current S/S 2012 collection.
Chun’s style is casually refined, influenced by the importance of structure and tailoring. The result is effortless and polished, blending interesting fabrics and classic silhouettes each season. Her current collection plays with layering pieces for a fresh, monochromatic look with the occasional pop of color and a tease of tomboyishness without loosing her signature modern femininity.
