Dossier: NSF

Los Angeles native Nick Friedberg was introduced to fashion through film. Coming from a film industry family, Nick had always mentally catalogued the wardrobes of his film icons with acute detail. His admiration for the integrity and confidence that well-made and well-fit clothing expresses on screen has always stuck with him.
After gaining production and technical knowledge working with James Perse and Yaya Aflalo, Friedberg founded NSF as a menswear line in 2005. His ability to pare down and retool signature Californian lifestyle pieces quickly earned attention to fashion industry movers and shakers. A women’s line quickly followed.
Inspired by California’s free spirit and hard work ethic, NSF proudly introduced a denim line in 2011. Believing that jeans represented the Californian dream, creative director Simon Miller introduced a finite collection with only a single classic straight cut, harkens to the craftsmanship of traditional American denim. For NSF denim, denim is the soul of what it means to leave everything behind and head west to reinvent yourself, claim your future and live lively. Woven on 1950’s Japanese loom, paired with American heritage hardware and propriety wet and dry finishes deliver a simplistic vintage comfort.
The simple goal of NSF remains to dress discerning men and women with a relaxed sensibility and a quiet cool.
